"It was nice to see people, that didn't know anything about video's, learn and later on become reporters of local tv's and national tv's" - StoryMaker user

Egypt

The media landscape in Egypt experiences a transformation. More and more people not only find their information through traditional channels, but also share their opinions, thoughts and news through online media. These apparent adversaries find each other in the StoryMaker project. During the training sessions, both experienced journalists and citizen reporters participated, closing the gap between them. All participants share a dedication to create reliable news, which results in amazing stories. Most stories feature the reporters’ own local community and the problems they face. Among these are factory struggles, youth development and little known traditions. These items can now be viewed here.
